Default Tell me how this works...

OK, so J was mentioning that he has a choice of duty station when he re-signs this time around. How true is this? How does this normally work? I would think Army would give choices and J would pick? But then J made it sound like he gets to pick the places? Is this considered a "wish list" as well?

Are there certain requirements for each post... ie: if J puts Redstone down - would that be highly unlikely he would get to go there? Basically, I don't want him choosing posts that there is NO way with his MOS/yrs. in/etc... he would get in.

Does this make sense? Sorry so distracted right now with kids chatting at me, and housing on my mind. LOL

If he does get a choice - does anyone have any recommendations for great posts? We don't want too expensive (NY, PA, DC, VA, CA), but I don't want to be out in the middle of no where. hahaha!

Thanks all!

the way it has been explained to me is you put together your "wish list". you put on your top three places you want to go to. if they have an opening in for your MOS at one of the location they put you there. if not they put you were they need you.

you can look at armyonestop.com. you can research bases there.

I have been on the site looking at stuff. I figure it is always nice to get feedback from others though. I wondered if that was the wishlist... I knew they did that in AIT... and I didn't know if that was the same thing.
