Done & done. You've come to the right person to hear your complaints & desires. However next time tell someone who gives a $h!t.

Default Common Sense

Hi Common Sense, you raise a topic that I think Canadians have an issue with... I have a couple of Friends who are Canadian and they refer to themselves as "North American"... ergo a differenciator to "American"... but to reiterate the point made by others... "Who Cares??"....

I don't.

I call myself North American sometimes. Or refer to North America. Maybe it's just because so much that happens to Canada or the U.S. can affect the other.

I say again - I have many relatives in Canada in at least 3 provices & they all call us "Americans" south of their border. I brought it up to a distant cousin years ago when he was down here & said that he considers us Americans & them Canadians. All of the rest of his family agreed. I asked him that for the express purpose to not offend anyone.

We don't offend that easy. So long as you don't go to the prairies in the summer with skiis, thinking we live in Igloos and hunt Polar Bears...you'll likely make friends. But having been here, you probably know that.

What!!??!! Dang. I thought I saw everything that you mentioned! Well - maybe not polar bear hunters.

None in my family take offense easily but we are still an offensive bunch.

My Grandpa on Mom's side emigrated to Saskatchewan from Germany working as a lumber jack, farmer & carpenter (I guess wood is in my family. I just wish I could pound a nail.) Mom was born in Regina & lived there until her early teens when they came down to Wisconsin. Some of Grandpa's brothers & cousins stayed up there. A few moved to Manitoba & B.C.
