I'll get excited when Brown gets booted!.Why can't they have their conference in Blackpool and not **** the centre of Manchester up. I'd forgotten what a policeman looked like until a drove through Manchester on Friday, I've never seen so many. They didn't have that many when Rangers came

Last estimate I heard on the bailout was at $700 BN. Hank Polsons plan at present is basically;

1. Inject Liquidity bailing out the mainly subprime bad stock with the $700Bn to get banks moving again in lending and investments. Stop short selling for a couple of weeks.
2. Review and create overhaul plan for Financial Services Regulation
3. Investigate and ID causes/people who caused the crises in the first place with appropriate remedial measures
4. Deploy new Financial Services Regulations through bodies like SEC, and the likes.

No other detail is available on my last check.. so how this is gonna be done in an effecitive manner is anybodies guess...

It's not getting passed. 2 guys give congress a report 3 pages long saying give us 700 billion or it's ****sville.

Some of the demands from congress are limited compensation caps for executives, a regulatory body for the money, a system in place ensuring the money IS returned to the tax payer. At 10 000 bucks a household being the bailout bill, the media can't find a person on the street who thinks it';s a good idea.

More Transparency is needed we cant let a company take it and run...when a company gets so large that its fate can affect the outcome of the worlds situation .....its a joke....what a fine mess we landed in

I heard that they are putting checks and balances into it....I was flabbergasted to find out that they didnt in the first place... the fat cats need a shock diet quick... just one of the many controls needed (substituting the golden parachute with a led one for guilty execs).

What's more dangerous. Communism? Or, an unpatrolled capitalism in a global economy?
