What a nasty nasty nasty weapon.. and thats to the guy firing it, not the guy at the other end... We got the horror stories of a platoon in the Congo jumping off a transport in a hurry and the butt of the Gustav hit the tailboard, he was holding the muzzle and the weapon ****ed itself and fired.. bye bye hand.... another dude running through a forest and tripped over a branch on the forest floor same thing again... ****in LETHAL!!.. to the owner... THANKFULLY, the Gustav SMG was scrapped along with the FN (which I did miss) and we got the AUG Styer... years before this happened of course, I went into the Regular Army and got trained up on the Regular Weapons, of which the AUG Steyr was the general issue AR.
You and your Styer Exo..i remember in the old days of this site we couldnt get you to knock the weapon..im the same with the SA80 theres something about the weapon you go through thick and thin with mate...im with you

The FN was missed in the British Army...when the first SA80 was introuduced and was having...well...its proplems...the soliders wanted the FN back

You cant knock Carl for his help in devloping the SUSAT though..........and what about the recoiless rifle

The SA80 had a disatrous introduction into the BA, so Im suprised they didnt want it. But the ugprades Im told have served the BA Soldier well, for a regular soldier, it increases options in a firefight, the lighter round does have its advantages..

THe 84mm had a punch, but it was clumsey and too heavy... Javalin looks like a better deal... I know Torps will have issue with this, but I would prefer the PFG7 to the Gustav 84mm, and the Javailin above the RPG....
