Hello :)
Hi, I have just registered on here. Just been in tears over webcam to my boyfriend who is working in Iraq..but I'll introduce myself first!..
I'm Kelly, I'm 21 and I live in England, and have been with my fiance for nearly 18months (been engaged since november, he proposed in the maldives !!) He was in the army for 9 years, that was before I knew him, he is now a close protection bodyguard working in Iraq. He is away for between 9 and 14 weeks at a time, and I miss him so much, I have never felt anything like it, some days I'm fine, and other days it will hit me that I'm not going to see him for weeks and I just cry..like today. I know he isn't in the army anymore, but I hope you don't mind me coming to chat, could really do with some people to talk to, who understand what I am feeling. Thanks xxxxx

Hey Kelly,
I'm haven't had any of my family deployed yet, but I know it will happen one day, and I'm not looking forward to that, but I do know a little about having a boyfriend who is far away, that you can't see because of his job.
It takes a very strong woman to be the girlfriend or wife of a man who's job takes him away for weeks, and months at a time. My ex-boyfriend had told me, it's hard to be with me, because a checkbook can't keep you warm at night, listen to your day, or be there to hold you when you need it. That's so true. My relationship didn't end with him because he was gone alot, but other things.
My advice to you is to keep yourself busy , and surrounded by friends, family, and learn to write, or like you said, send web video, etc. He may not be right there, but it helps to write down your feelings whatever they may be. Cherish the days he is home.
Most importantly, not all women can handle this type of relationship, so be honest with yourself, and him if you can not. In the meantime stay faithful, he needs you standing by him, even if it's just letters, a phone call now and then till he can come home.
Your in my prayers,
Kim

Hi Angel,
welcome to the site, hope you enjoy our crazy debates, and hope to see your contris soon. If your bf is working a Personal Security Detail, hes well trained, and will be able to handle himself. Have faith in his abilities and dont worry too much...
Regards
Exo..
