Slowly, as we can all see, individual states are passing the laws for gay marriage. Like interracial marriage, I think, it will only be a matter of time before it is a debate of the past. If this does happen, the army will have no feet to stand on. They will have to let them serve openly and have all benefits that any straight couple would be entitled to. Which is the way it should be. People need to worry less about the way others live their lives and pay attention to their own.

Honestly, there are been many test done that I have read about regarding homophobia. The last one I seen in a magazine was they had ran test on x amount of subjects. I think it was around 100 each. 100 gay males. 100 straight non homophobic males. 100 homophobic males. The ran gay and straight sexual images while performing brain scans. I believe it said around 80% of the homophobic men's brain reacted the same way the openly gay males did when the gay items were on the screen. So basically, they have some repressed feelings they were ashamed of. The straight non homophobics reacted the same way but with straight sexual images on the screen.

Im sure there are a % of homophobic males who are closet homosexuals and ashamed of it as you say.. however, as a self declared homophob, I have to cast a shadow on your theory, what gets me genuinely going is a smoken hot woman, whos curves leave nothing to the imagination... Smokin!!... What makes me wanna puke is the sight of two guys kissin... you see, I have one of those faces gay guys seem to like and "pritty boy" has attracted unwanted attention from Gays which fuelled my paranoa about gay guys... The agressive appraoch by some gay guys didnt help either, and nearly led to blows on more then on occassion in my early 20s... However, as I matured, I released that gay guys have stereotypes just like us straighties, and now cos Im over 30, single and good lookin, I must be gay...... NOT!! My mellowing out has seen my response go from thoughts of extreme voilence to "beat it, youre not my type!"...

What ever floats your boat is fine, I now work with some of the gayest dudes I have ever seen and their Kamp prancing around was great material for satire at first, but now I dont care, and too busy to get mad at boys acting like little girls...... they know Im straight, I DEFINATELY know the're gay so the lines are drawn correctly...

The Military wont have to change or do anything (if its not in its best interests)...I can think of many laws that aplly to civilian life that dont apply to the military and visa verse...If something is detrimental to the Armed Forces and hampers its ability to perform to its full potential then it shouldnt be allowed......As I have said earlier in this thread I couldnt careless if a lad in my section was gay as long as he was up to the job It wouldnt bother me(However I would rather not know Dont ask dont tell)...but if their sexuality starting causing problems and animosity within the section then thats a different ball game...That goes with any problems being caused whether its due to sexuality or a million other reasons for the problem.... and know for a fact my COs would say the same.

With homosexuality... a part of me says....Is it normal?...whats normal?....but then another part of me says if it was normal both sexes would be able to conceive carry and give birth to children without the need of the opposite sex...So when people say it dosnt go against nature they are wrong.

When people say being gay is all to do with DNA...I find that very hard to believe.I think there can be many things that happen in early life that can have a big impact on all areas of a persons personality.... whether the person is aware of it or not.

Whether Homophobic people have underlying issues with their sexuality or not?...I wouldnt know...maybe in some cases but most of the time that card is used so that gay people can rationalize the other persons dislike for them.

The few gay people I have meet over the years have made a bigger issue of their sexuality then anyone eles...I was introduced to a gay man once by my sister...He introduced himself as gay...I shook his hand and said "Thats nice... Im jrj" in the two minutes I knew him the only thing he spoke about was his sexuality...It was as if he was trying to convince himself that being gay was OK and over playing it....Why dont straight people make such a song and dance about being straight?...I dont introduce myself...."Please to meet you...Im straight"

Dont worry about it buzzy....if you want to join the Army and think you can make it.....just dont tell them you are gay....they wont ask

Good luck to you!!
