Default medical question

In 2006 i had an accident and had a compound fracture in my left arm. I had surgery to install plates and screws to aid the setting of my bone. In spring 2007 i underwent surgery to remove the hardware and two different doctors have told me my arm is now stronger than it was before the accident. I have no limitations in use and can fully extend my arm without any problem. From the two surgeries however i now have a 6 or 7 inch scar on my arm which is noticable. My physical contition is excellent and my asvab score is 86 and i have alot of interest in the airborne ranger contract. My question is if i would be disqualified simply because the occurance of the fracture? Is there a waiver i need? any information would be helpfull.

If your doctor cleared you then there shouldn't be a problem.

My son fractured his femur when he was 9. His Recruiter told him he shouldn't even think of going Airborne. When he went to MEPS for his physical the doc there said there was no way he could be kept from going to Airborne School & even recommended it. He said it was the strongest part of his leg & if he broke anything it wouldn't be there. He not only went to Airborne School but became a Ranger.

You'll be fine, previous injuries wont disqualify you for just having had them, its when those injurys give you limitaions or increase your chances of future injury.
