Default Base housing?

I was wondering how base housing works as far as someone else living with you, im currently engaged and both of us are in college, and hoping to leave for basic shortly after college, so it doesnt give us much time to save the money for a wedding before i go, we thought about just getting the paper work down and having the ceremony later but she would rather not if we have the choice.

So my question is if i live on base can she live with me before we get married or would she have to stay behind until i could find a place off base?

In order to receive the benefit of government housing on post you have to be married.

You will be given a barracks room to live in but she can't stay with you.

On-post housing normally has a waiting list. Even if you're married & qualify you might have to live off of the post. In that case you'd be eligible for BAH that would help to defray the rent cost.
