Sometimes pushin' all that paper around creatively can be exciting unto itself. When I was a 1SG I hated the orderly room. I had a good "field first" that liked paper work so he stayed inside while I critiqued the training & observed the troops. Had a company commander that had the same mind-set. The XO & operations SGT ran the orderly room. The battalion comander praised the CO & the CSM praised me for our diligence. The other COs & 1SGs weren't too happy with us. They wanted to be close to the coffee pot.

I am glad he is where he is at this point. So far he is okay with it. He doesn't like that it gets slow... but apparently they are allowed do work on their studies during slow periods. So it is working out for his educational goals.
