Delta Force?
 

1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D) as it's formally called. I have a friend who's a senior in highschool and he wants to become delta force. I know it's a highly secretive counter terrorist force, considered the best in the world and that it's basically America's SAS but I don't know what you have to do to become one. Anyone got any info I can give him to help him out?

I can tell you that it is not an enlistment option & it could be as long a wait to get to selection as a second enlistment. I've heard that in some cases the recruiters come to you, you don't go to them but that one I kind of doubt. They can take any soldier who wants to try out & if they can't cut it they're out.

My son's Recruiter was just about a world-class athlete in several sports & admitted that he busted the selection. Just couldn't keep up & he claimed he aced his last 3 APFTs before he went to selection.
