$20,000 Bonus For Quick Enlist
The U.S. Army's Recruiting Command announced recently a $20,000 "quick-ship" bonus for aspiring recruits. The bonus applies to new recruits with no prior military service who enlist for at least two years active duty in America's Army. They must agree to report to basic training within 30 days of enlistment.

$10K Long Drive Championship
Golfers are driving for dough at more than two dozen Army installations during the 2007 Military Long Drive Championships presented by Cadbury Schweppes. One big hitter will walk off with $10,000 and bragging rights as the 2007 Military Long-Driver.

'Artificial Spike' Leads to Highest Troop Level
An "artificial spike" in the number of U.S. troops in Iraq has led to the largest number of American servicemembers in the country ever, Pentagon officials said yesterday.

The Army is putting the “temporary” back into Temporary Change of Station, or TCS. TCS is the status of Soldiers who are deployed away from their home stations to support a contingency operation.
