Default Bonus problem

Keri,
It is important to remeber that your husband got the bonus for his MOS(military occupational skill) not for being a Soldier! Once he completes his AIT he will be eligible to be paid his bonus. Just as it's already been said, once he completes AIT he will get half of the bonus(minus taxes), the other half will be paid on his anniversary of enlistment each year until all is paid. I never got a bonus after 24 years in the Army but I do remember that those that did get them recieved them the next month after graduation from AIT. Usually the Army pays it without him having to do anything, but if there is a problem then all he has to do is go to the finance office with his enlistment contract and they should be able to correct the error by the next payday. Good luck and tell your hubby thanks for his service from all of us.

Default It's me again

I spoke to a recruiter today for Army National guard. I am interested in the Active first program and quick ship for 31b. The recruiter told me that I would find out what (if any) bonuses I would receive AFTER I went to MEPS. Could anyone please tell me if that is true, or should I talk to the recruiter Monday about the bonus when I go to do ASVAB? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The bonus's are based on needs of the Army. When the need changes the bonus changes. It is highly possible that you could be offered a bonus on Monday and if you didnt enlist that day you could lose it on Tuesday. The Army fills slots. The career counselor at MEPS had acess to the Army manning program. He can literally sit and watch the slots change minute by minute which is why your recruiter is telling you to wait until you talk to him.

NOW... To the KNuckleheaded crybaby paralegal that is more than willing to take the Armies money without exposing himself to any risk. You are a Pansy, flag burning P***y. Everyone in Iraq is at severe risk to be killed at any time. If you think the Army is offering high bonuses to people in the hopes that they get killed and they wont have to pay, you need serious phsychological counseling. Do you have little green men tell you these things? I can assure you that if you were in Iraq with me you wouldnt be allowed to carry a weapon because you are a coward who would probably shoot your buddy in the middle of a PANIC. If you bother to look at the CAsualty lists from the war on terror you will see that the death rate is not dominated by any specific MOS. 11B's are getting killed at the same rate as truck drivers. Everyone shares the same risk in country. People like you make me sick and I hope you will get out of MY ARMY as soon as your contract allows you too. GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE CRYBABY!!!
