Well BCT is normally about 3 months. Once he's finished he'll have a graduation and you should be able to go to that. Then after that he'll be going to AIT for his MOS. He should be able to come home for a little bit after AIT. My best advice is to just keep in touch through letters and the little phone calls you will have, and make sure you stay in communication with his family as well. Remember they're going through the same thing you are. It's not easy, but you'll make it through this just be strong.

https://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/ here is the website for fort benning. find out when his graduation is so you can plan to go... hotels and flights get pricey fast because of the large number of families going. is anyone in his family going? basic is a very tough period, for both the soldier and his loved ones. i know how tough it is as i'm an army girlfriend as well. do you know his MOS? keep him motivated with letters and appropriate pictures. after his job training he probably will come home for 'hometown recruiting' for 2 and a half weeks and after that he will have to report to his assigned base. keep in mind that his base could be far away, depending on where the army wants to send him. just stay strong, and the people on this website are extremely helpful for any questions you may have.
