Default Newbie!!

I am new to this forum...I have one son in the NAVY in the CTI program. The other brother ships out on the 23rd of July. Have a done a good job of instilling pride of country and made them adventurous or a poor job where they will do anything just to get away. lol I know it is the former. I can use whatever help any and all of you are willing to provide. I did print the parents manual and found that helpful. I knew a lot of the information from the first time around the block. Thank you in advance...

Hey Mom x2....
Good stuff! I know it's not easy for all the troopers out there and even harder for the families and loved ones at home waiting for their soldier's return from deployment. But were all part of the military family..We're in it together. Your not alone here...that's for sure.

I have a pretty good idea where I'm going.(Very Happy) We're going to find out offically anyday now..Lol. I can't wait to go..My dad was a career blackbird pilot in the Army and Army Guard (retired) and two of my brothers and many of my friends have all did their fair shair and continue to do it well. Hooah..

I'm delaying my junior year in college so I can go with my unit and finally be able do the job I was trained to do..I know it sounds a little crazy..but it's been driving me nuts not to be there where I belong..."With my brothers". I can't wait.I'm excitied..Hooah..Don't you worry about your boys..Will watch over them,,,Navy or Army..Lol.Hooah..

We're going to have to fill out the SGLI life insurance paper work and "The Stuff"..And alot of ppl outside the military just don't understand...Being a soldier isn't the end of the world. It's about the soldier's beside us and doing our jobs well..Together doing the best we can to make our deployment a successful one. Hooah!!..I don't even bother to talk to ppl outside my friends or the military anymore because of all the stupid questions they ask or the jackass remarks that they make.Lol.My answer to them is "Nothing". They don't "get it" - or - understand. It's about the soldier's beside us..Anyways, your one of us....Hooah.

.. I'm Nightflyer, and welcome to our awesome Army site...

Welcome! As you can tell by the name I am also an Army mom. My son has been in for 13 months and 4 days. (not really counting it was just easy to do). I AM counting the days (weeks?) until he gets home from his first deployment. Amazingly, the unit he went to after basic was already deployed and their 15 months will be up soon. I have learned a lot from this forum and from digging around on my own, but am always learning something new. I am extremely proud of my son and all the other sons that serve our country. The growth I have seen in him blows me away. His younger brother finally has a good role model.

By the way, I am pretty sure wanting to get away was part of the reason my son enlisted also, but it was also because he wanted to do something important with his life. There was also a small WOO HOO! in the back of my mind knowing he was moving out (at 22) and moving on. A big relief to know you can set one free and it will survive, especially when there are 3 more to go!

Thank your sons for me for their service to their country in time of war. You must be busting with pride!

Interservice rivalries ought to be fun. I have it out with myself on a daily basis-Former Navy, Retired Army!

My Ranger son is due to get out of the Army on the 19th of May. We're glad he made it out from all his combat deployments in one piece. His Mom & I are so very proud of him & his accomplishments but are overjoyed that he's coming home. He's already signed up with a Reserve unit but has a guaranteed contract not to get deployed for two years.

It was..We missed pop alot when he was gone on another deployment..But we were always aloud to hang out around the bays, the pad and hangers. The shop was always a cool place for us..My mom was always strong but there were times when we knew how much she missed Dad.But we hung tough because we belived in my dad and his mission...Army Family Sticks together and Stays together...
