The first thing you should do is Google the Army's PT test requirements for your age group. Just submit "APFT". You'll need a score of 50% in your age group to pass BCT & 60% to pass when you get in a unit. Best to go for the max, 100%. That way you're sure to pass with a good score even on a bad day.
The next thing you want to do is to Google "ASVAB" & find all kinds of study guides & practice tests. The higher you score on the real test the more choices of MOSs & opportunities you'll have.
August is probably right on the edge of the earliest best time to enlist. ASeptember & October might be better. By that time the Recruiters will have run through the list of H.S. & college grads wanting to enlist. There should be more MOS openings & more bonuses available.
