The don't ask don't tell rule of thumb is a joke. It really means the military in general doesn't want to deal with gays. I've got two girls in my platoon that are openly gay. Everyone knows it, heck one was wearing a ring on her ring finger and I asked her where she got it. She said, "I got it from so and so." Give me a break, no one knows! Whatever, they just look the other way. Do you think that crap would be allowed if it were two guys openly gay? I freak'in doubt it. Another double standard in the Army. Holy Cow! Double Standard is my watch word!

I have no idea what BAH/BAS is...and I dont believe in same sex marriages...not because Im anti gay...I just dont think its right.

In your previous post you just moaned and shouted "Double standards"

Its typical of certain types of people to claim foul...its just an easy cop out.

Its easier to make things everyone else's fault rather then just getting their heads down and cracking on with it.

jrj-

BAH=Basic allowance for Housing ( the Army gives you an allowance to live off post)

BAS=Basic Allowance for Subsistence ( the Army pays you a certain amount towards the food your dependents consume)

I wasn't moaning or shouting, I was just stating a fact. The Army is full of double standards, that's all. Move out.

It is if you go looking for them.. with large organisations, its easy to pull that card out of the hat without much effort... I would ask you another question. Why are you there? Focus on the answer and if its positive, then you dont need to knit pick like a whiner.... For what its worth, I have seen raw deals (real ones), and some folks fall apart and some folks brush off the dust from their fall, and move forward with more determination then you ever thought possible.... that in my book is the real sign of a good soldier...

Cheers MSG....thanks for the information.

Its like our housing benefit for the married and our child benefit.

Well no then I dont believe they should gay people should have that right.
I do think however benefit should be given to children.

I dont believe in same sex marriages or openly gay people in the Army....so that shoots down any benefit plan for homosexuals.
