Default Twitter?

Sound off if you have a twitter account! I'm working on setting up a twitter account for army.com (@armydotcom) and I also have a pretty cool idea for another way to user twitter here on the site.

Feel free to use this thread to post your twitter username and we'll follow you!

lol, I guess I could explain that a little eh?

First, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddO9idmax0o

Twitter is basically like chat. It's limited to 140 characters and it's available via the web and mobile devises. The way I usually explain it to people is that it's like texting, but with multiple people. It's really easy and highly addictive. It's also free. Play around with it! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hmm.

so basically, it's like a group chat on AIM, but minus the download. Interesting, I might just make an account..

Yeah, yeah, somewhat like that. To me, it requires less time than actual chat. It's more in the moment. If you do sign up and have questions feel free to PM or email me (chris@activv.com)

The idea of people voluntarily logging every move they make onto a public website makes me want to punch a baby.

Some people do do that, but most people just talk to each other. Don't like someone's updates? Don't follow them, but don't blame twitter I use it to talk to friends, other developers, etc. It's an amazing resource. And there must be something to it considering every major company out there is trying to buy them including Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. No doubt there are some boring people on there tho, but there are some of those on the forums too and they can use a lot more space to say a lot less, lol.

However, If you want to know what I had for lunch, it was a chicken sandwich, fries and a Dr. Pepper
