Thing is that a British RMP is a POLICEMAN in the army, where the American counterpart sounds more of a security guard??? ..thanks

you should know that nobody ever stops training!!

British learn everything at the beginning! Americans learn everything once they get to their unit. Even they can tell you that they didn't learn everything in those 15 weeks of Infantry School in Ft Benning.

So you can say you have that long training all u want...we really don't give a rats *** how long it is. It doesn't make you better.

You've just contradicted yourself. RM's move onto more specialised training once they have been allocated a Commando. It use to be mainly Amphibious or Arctic warfare and a deployment to N. Ireland But the times have changed.....and they're more likely to be jumping out of a chinook in Afghanistan than a landing craft in Devon.

Yea but these guys make it seem like we only train for a few weeks and then that's it

Everytime i hear.."Yanks only have a 9 week basic training" Their Infantry training is only 14/15 weeks" "Our training is LONGER..blah blah blah

WHICH IS WHY I'M SAYING THEY NEVER STOP TRAINING

RM's have this thing about "cheerfulness in the face of adversity". Do you guys do that?

No matter how much **** is being thrown at you, you always maintain the ability to laugh and make a joke even when the situation is dire. Its gives you strength and the ability to keep a clear head in the most difficult situations.

I laughed when Lewis compare a Brit paratrooper to a Hat.

But assuming he meant US Army Special Forces, I also laughed.

I can't comment on the US military but having been in school in the states. Yes you do hand things out too easily. I got an EPA without even revising although nothing on the exam sheet was relevent anyway. Like most theory, totally useless! We're starting to do that here too by the way, lowering standards so that anybody can pass. So far the military hasn't adopted this ...........thank god!

The world would be in complete shambles if the military gave jobs like that to anyone.

It doesnt matter how well trained your force is if it fights with sticks ( and Aussies are not top notch in training as well ).

As far as militaries i'd put the first 10 in order as follows.

USA.
Russia.
India.
China.
Israel.
Germany.
Turkey.
France.
UK.
JDF.
You forgot:

Taliban
Hamas
Hezbollah
Pakistan
Mahdi
PKK
and many more!

by the way thanks for giving your nationality away .......... sh-it head!
