Question I don't get it? why?

Maybe someone could tell me why my soldier went to boot camp....FLW... was suppose to graduate in April.....has AIT until June but has written home that he will not be able to 'graduate' until June at all...........So, we will not see him until after everything in FLW. What the heck is that about? Anyone know?

who did you hear it from? the recruiter told us the same thing after he had already told us that graduation was march 20th but there should be a graduation after basic. has your soldier failed to pass a requirement? check the fort's website as well for further info.
and FLW is fort leonard wood.

You'll have to ask him if there's any reason why his graduation is delayed. It's possible he's being recycled to the next class or the one after that. Sometimes if you bust the PT test or get injured you're put into a remedial platoon until you can either pass the PT test or your injury is healed whichever was the cause for you to be put behind.

I don't know if there's any One Station Unit Training (OSUT) basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood but that could be another reason. OSUT is Basic Combat Training & Advanced Individual Training (MOS school) run together. There's normally a graduation ceremony after OSUT is complete with a much smaller ceremony between the BCT phase & the AIT phase. The two courses are run seamlessly back to back with the same Drill Sgts, same students at the same location. They normally get a part of a weekend off between them & then start right back with the AIT phase on Monday.

Missing training or not making fitness knock a few guys in my training platoon also... sucks but its best to be well trained even if it takes a bit longer...

My husband was a combat engineer and he was at FLW for 17 weeks because he had OSUT there. That's the only thing I can think of that would keep him there, unless he got recycled like the others said. What's his MOS?

Looks like she got her answer - and my money says he's an engineer and doing OSUT - the only reason fpr a Soldier nopt to have a BCT graduation.
