Default can he join?

I have a friend who wants to join the army. he lives far away from me, so I cant help him out too much. His parents are a bit over controlling of him and pulled him out of school before he got his high school diploma. He is very adamant about joining the marines. I tell him he must get a diploma! He tells me he would if he could, but his parents wouldn’t allow it. He lives far out in the countryside and his parents wont let him get a drivers license, because they want him to be some sort of work horse. He tells me he’s making a fake birth certificate and high school diploma. I tell him there going to check your records and not let you in. he says I’ll take the ASVAB they’ll see my high score and overlook my records. I don’t know what to say to him: I wish I could help him. What do you think? will they let him in now that recruiters are in such need for people to join? HOOAH!!!

If they take his fake birth certificate & diploma & find out later that they're forgeries he'll be charged with felonies. Any false information given while enlisting can be treated as a felony, even giving false answers on the medical history questionaire.

Recruiters are NOT in the need for people. They've recruited over their mission goal for most of '08. They WILL check ALL records regardless of the ASVAB score.

Until he can break away from his situation I'd say he's just sol. He'll have to wait until he's 18. Then he doesn't need parental permission. He'll also need to either finish H.S. or get a GED. The Armed Forces is not an asylum for troubled or mistreated youth. He'll still have to qualify in all factors.
