Default lautenberg law

today i was told i was flagged for a domestic case in 1998 but in 2004 i obtained a gun permit so i should not fall under this law and should be able to join. what if anything can i do?

Have you seen a Recruiter? He could probably tell you for sure. If a waiver is needed he can start the process. I have a gun permit myself but also have a clean record. But - I know some that fell throught he cracks so it might not be a clear-cut action. I also have a Security Officer license & you can't even have some misdemeanors to get it. It's even more strict than the qualifications to become a Police Officer but there too I know of some that fell through the cracks. I guess just by possesing those permits doesn't necessarily mean that you have a clear record in their eyes.
