Default EOD movie

This is the female director that made the Keanu Reeves' movie Point Break. She now directs this movie which has critics saying great things.

I'll bet there'll be a lot of EOD guys laughing at that one! The same way I used to laugh at submarine & Frogman movies & still laugh at all Paratrooper movies. "Geronimo" for cryin' out loud!

To the unwashed masses including myself it looks like a good entertaining action-packed film. I love to see things blow up!!

Thanks for the peek, Mr. Q

Exactly. For entertainment purposes only. The truth is always stretched. When I called in EOD, the Air Force supported that on those occasions and always brought the robot. The 101st grunts had the CROWs system to get good eyes on IEDs.

One of the EOD advisors for that movie left the EOD field on not so good terms. Though I doubt it was his intention to make EOD look so irresponsible and inept, he did a good job of it and the EOD guys find the movie to be more of an insult to their hard earned and dangerous careerfield. Though they seem to have taken it in stride and understand it's Hollywood and they'll rarely, if ever, portray something accurately.

Having had EOD attached to my teams, I became familiar with their TTPs in some areas .. having that little bit of knowledge on their careerfield, I can see why. The great thing is, the movie didn't give away anything on how EOD operates ... which is always a plus in my book.

Taking into account Hollywood side of things, I still thought it was a pretty bad movie overall. It was disjointed, clumsy and the plot wasn't that great ... I'm still trying to figure out what the hell the main character meant during one of his monologues. I'm glad I didn't have to pay to see it in the theater, or pay to see it at all. Far better war movies out there than this.

For those interested in seeing it .. definately wait until it comes out for rent, it's not worth the price of a theater ticket.

The US and Hollywood .....whats the difference? Both over play it. Hollywood is a fair depiction of how Americans see themselves and the outside world.....and you wonder why we poke fun......

I enjoy the films apart from the Steven Segal / Chuck Norris (brain dead) genre.

But
Where would my childhood be without disney or Star wars etc

Heresy!! Very dangerous to bad mouth Chuck Norris!!! He's liable to round-house kick you all the way to France. That wouldn't be too good.

With his kicks he doesn't have to act.

I haven't seen Gran Torino yet. I will eventually.

If Batman & Superman had a fight who would win?
