Default Acronyms

Yeah, I know this isn't like an immediate need for help. But I wasnt sure where else to post this. o.O Anyways, flipping through this forum, it can get O_O, Its like another language! There are so many acronyms! So far I only know:
MOS - military occupational specialty
CO - commanding officer
SG - sergant, right?
OSUT - one station unit training
AIT - advance individual training
BCT - boot camp training? lol
APFT - army phsyical fitness test... which im not even sure thats right, either.
Yeah... what are some others? Like, MEPs and JAG...

Here's a few to help you out...
SGT = Sergeant
BCT = Basic Combat Training
MEPS- Military Entrance Processing Station
ASVAB = Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
ARNG = Army National Guard
OEF = Operation Enduring Freedom (our engagement in Afghanistan)
OIF = Operation Iraqi Freedom
OPSEC = Operational Security
PT = Physical Training
SRP = Soldier Readiness Processing
POV - Privately Owned Vehicle
FOB - Forward Operation Base
PCS - Permanent Change of Station (when you move from one installation to another)
TDY - Temporary Duty
FTX - Field Training Exercise
JRTC - Joint Readiness Training Center
NTC - National Training Center
ACU - Army Combat Uniform
CQ - Charge of Quarters, an overnight desk duty (at basic training, your platoon will have CQ duty if your DS has CQ duty).
DA - Department of the Army
DD or DoD - Department of Defense
DFAC - Dining Facility (Mess Hall or Cafeteria)
DS - Drill Sergeant
IBA - Individual Body Armor; Kevlar vest
MP - Military Police.
MRE - Meal Ready to Eat
NCO - Non-Commissioned Officer
OBC - Officer Basic Course
OCS - Officer Candidate School
PX - Post Exchange

BOHICA
FUBAR
SNAFU
WTF (usually followed by a question mark)

I'll defer the meanings to someone else. Maybe a braver soul not worried about being banned from the site.
