Are you sure you were tested correctly? When I was in MEPS the lady told me to stick my face in the goggles. I did and she asked me what i saw, I said, "nothing". She looked at me like I was nuts and made an adjustment on the side of the machine and asked, "Okay, how about now". I said that I could only see like the top half of a row of large letters. She gasped and asked how the hell I was able to walk around without binoculars. So, frusterated I grabbed the goggles and pulled them to my face and viola! I could see the whole eye chart...turns out I was trying to put my face in without touching the machine, when I should have pulled it to my face instead.

All I am saying is make sure it was done right and see if you can get another shot if you feel it wasn't.

Do you wear glasses or contacts now?

Default yeah

yeah i did two things for vision test.

one thing was to put my eyes on the goggle thing and see if any rows i can see, i saw the top one barely.

second one was another goggle machine but this time, they focused the star picture thing on my eyes...

anyways,

i've never seen any ppl around me disqualified PHYS because of the eyes. *Sigh*

waiting for a waiver... and see if i can do anything to get rid of it (i'm considering about LASIK too..if they require)

Lasik is a good idea but you won't be allowed to enlist until 6 months or a year (I've heard it told both ways. A Recruiter will know) after your surgery.. If you're in a hurry to get in then I'd wait for the waiver. It might take a while because many waivers are on hold. Recruiting has no problems getting recruits. This will probably slow down in fall or winter.

The Army offers surgery free of charge but at this time Special Operations has a priority.

How bad is bad? I have 20/200 and still got in, along with red/green colorblindness and myopic astigmatism. I would be interested to know how bad your vision really is to see if I barely got by.
