Default Camp Casey

My family and I are looking for information on how to find out if our soilder is ok. He left for Camp Casey Aug 17th and we still have not heard from him. Is this typical? How do we find out if he is alright? We have been told that it is typically for soliders not to contact their family when sent to Camp Casey because there are so many fun things to do but we all feel that he would have contacted us briefly to let us know he was ok. We have tried going through his recruiting officer and the Red Cross. Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know how old your Soldier is, but he may be living it up not worrying about what is going on back home. If you went through Red Cross and still haven't heard from him, then it sounds like he is ignoring you. Do you know his unit, have you tried writing him?

My boyfriend is at Camp Casey and has been there since December 17th. Mine contacted his family as soon as he got there...and waited a few days to contact me. Your soldier should be fine--they would let you know if he never showed up. As for being told that it is typical for soldiers to not contact their families when they get to Camp Casey b/c there are so many fun things to do is bull. I don't know who told you that, but they are crazy. Yes, there are some things for the guys to do, but so much that he wouldn't have time to contact you. Have you tried sending him a letter? I know Camp Casey is huge, but do you want my guy to ask around for your soldier?
