Depends were you are in Korea, and what plans your opposition have, its prone to Army Navy action on land and sea, the dmz is the most heavily mined ground in the world, but thats a resolvable problem... good defensive gound is where you have a superior edge over your enemy in training, are naturally acclimitised to your surroundings, and are skilled in local ways of gettting around, and have natural defensive barriers, like lakes, rivers, hills, etc. Your land does not have HUGE mountains, and your weather is bad.... Finland comes to mind for me...

Want another Example, try Switzerland, its surrounded by mountains in its terrotories, thus creating a natural mote around the country that is nearly impossible to pass without anybody shooting at you..

Terrain in Swizterland would keep an invading Army out cos of the Alps for one... Russia has good entry points but the terrain is huge and open to effective counter attack..... a large force could do well initally, but the counter attack would be blistering.... and the winter would cause supply problems aswell... Its an easy enough country to invade, but near impossible to concequer...
