11X, not 11B. Get your cord, then you can be an 11B. Good luck.

Alpha, as he has yet to ship for OSUT, he is most likely an E-1, 2 or 3.

That is because all infantry contracts in the US Army are designated the MOS 11X. He will not be an 11B or 11C until he finishes OSUT.

my rank is Pv1, and no tacky my MOS is 11B not 11X on my contract. there are no slots for 11C in my unit

Have you gone through OSUT yet? No, then you're not an 11B. Until you earn the blue cord, you aren't infantry. I suggest you learn that. Now go study FM 7-8

Tacky I think you are a wise man but in my instance you are wrong. Im in the national guard and you have your MOS before you leave. So I am 11B

Since you are in the NG, then yes, this is true. I mistakenly assumed you were going RA.

However, I would warn you not to get too comfortable in aligning yourself with infantry as you have yet to earn your cord. The National Guard is quick to give titles away when they should be earned.

Now go study FM 7-8

Tacky yeah I agree with you I wanted to go RA but I have to do 6 months with the NG first, thanks to a typo and a guy at meps who doesnt know how to think. But as long as Im in oh well so yeah Im going in as 11B to hopefully airborne then wen I go RA hopefully to RIP and so on... sorry for the miscommunication there.
