Default cell phone usage and other questions

ok so im prior service, yet due to my unit losing my certificate of completion of basic i have to redo it thats fine with me however its only about 10 weeks (9 basic 1 reception) so anyway im going to fort benning to do basic again, will i be permitted to have my cell phone during BCT? also my brother who is also in the army went to fort sam houston which is where i go for AIT, he told me that i will be put with prior service and that i will not have to deal with all the new recruits, is this true and if so what are the possibilties of me coming home on a weekend pass? thanks for the help its very much appreciated

If you are prior service, why isn't your DD214 proof enough?

Do a search on the site to answer the cell phone question, I think it's been addressed a few dozen times

ive noticed different bases have different rules about cellphones and usage. my husband was not allowed one at basic, but was at AIT.

My son was at Ft Benning last summer for OSUT. He didn't get to have his phone until the 13th week. He was not prior service though.

Dude they are giving you the shaft. DD214=win. And even if you lost it, recruiters can pull it up in the database.
I mean, I did basic twice but no skin off my back. W/ bah etc I was tagging nearly 3500$ month and not spending a dime of it. And that was as a dumbass e1.
But at Benning, no your not gonna get a cellphone. Infact, you probably wont even get payphone priveleges.
At a lesser post, you may or may not get cellphones on sundays. Up to them.

Also, even if you ARE prior service, you wont be anymore special than the new recruits. They will stick you in the barracks with them, you will eat with them, and you will even **** with them. I've seen e6's catch just as much flak as e1's at Benning.

For other AIT's, normally MOS-T's are in their own barracks, w/ their cars and phones etc.
