aww damn.. i totally missed this one...

AS50 is not... as i know of an issue of any army.. how ever most likely used
by most special operators with connections to Accuracy International.

as you may or may not know.. AI and Lapua had their hands full with the
.338 Lapua Magnum round at the 80's..
truely mastered mostly by Accuracy International and Sako rifles.

the AS50 still weights three times as much as Sako TRG.

its heavier than Barrett.

as the range is better.. i doubt the gain is that
relevant in common army ops. the weight counts much more.
and for the spesific operations there might just be a differend budget...
different men.. and different gear.

It is quite heavy no doubt about it....and you are right about Reg Army needs..weapons need to be lighter and easier to transport..the AS50 was designed for certian ops and units in mind
