I have to many dependents to go active USMC but am able to go Army?

How hard is it to go from reserves to active? How long do I have to be in grade?

Have you talked to a Recruiter yet? He'd be the best source of information. This time of the year enlistments become more difficult for those with issues.

Are you prior service?

I think the cutoff is 6 dependents. Anyway, its not a matter if its hard, its up to the reserves if they want to release you to go active. you will have to put in a request. your chances might be great. Time that you can request is about 6 months to a year that you have been a drilling member of the reserves. You will have to put in for a conditional release. google it.
