Couldnt agree more, its a fact that any kind of decent armour need a shaped charge for penetration... the complexity of the IED has far outstretched what a load goat herder would pick up on the go... its university grade science at work, and the military application of it through my friends, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.....

As for the blowing up Barracks, its a calculated risk, they take, but thats exactly what they would want... I would showcase a lawsuite for unlawful death in the International Court and seek civil compensation for pain and suffering to UK Troops... get the evidence down in Trial, and any case for military action down the road has proven back up showing Iranian agression... albeit it of a clandestine nature...

The U.S. military showed off a bunch of that sophisticated stuff at a press conference in Iraq a while back. They said it most likely came from Iran, but the media didn't seem interested.

Have to play to keep the EU happy...relatively happy.
Certain EU states have been the biggest critics, or, actually, the most effective critics and that doesn't help the situation any.

the latest intel on IED is astounding.... what these guys are making IED's out of, I could not make something like that its common house hold stuff mostly and with the right know how (MIT) its a deadly combination. To the boint that they are blowing uparmored HMMV's in half with there contraptions....

but on the plus side they have a 10%chance of blowing themselfs up in the process of implanting said devices

Was it the Israelis that used to saturate the black market supply with booby trapped components and ammo?
