You must appreciate that for serving members of the US Military (and other militaries for that matter), they are "locked in" on certain details.. this means that they cannot get into detail cos its against Military law/info disclosure, etc... ask specific questions, and if they can be answered, they will.. if you get a general answer, its not cos they are lazy, it cos they cant get into more detail... A few people on this forum have answered ALLOT of questions, so present yours and we will do our best to answer them.... If you dont get an answer, no need to ponder why anymore...

Well one would think that if the MOS's are posted all over the army website it shouldnt be a problem. One would also think that members of the Army or any other military branch for that matter would want to welcome any newcomers. By answering any question that newcomer comes with. It's not like i want you to tell me you went and shot down Saddam or anything i just want opinions on how the job goes and what I might expect in the job. So thank you Exo1 for trying to please me but it didnt. So anyone with some real opinions please do post.

So.. if the MOS's are posted all over the Army website (and they are...) Why can't you just go look them up yourself? Doing your own research will be a lot more rewarding and won't get you flamed.

P.S. Hi! (First post)

Scotty, Im Army Aviation...

First off...you will need a score on your Asvab of 50 or higher and a GT score of 110 and above. Here you go dude... http://www.military.com/ASVAB

Second.... Aviation.
15B E3-6 AIRCRAFT POWERPLANT REPAIRER
15D E3-6 AIRCRAFT POWERTRAIN REPAIRER
15F E3-6 AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN
15G E3-6 AIRCRAFT STRUCTURAL REPAIRER
15H E3-6 AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULICS REPAIRER
15J E3-7 OH-58D ARMAMENT/ELECTRICAL/AVIONICS SYSTEMS REPAIRER
15K E7-7 AIRCRAFT COMPONENTS REPAIR SUPERVISOR
15M E3-6 UH-1 HELICOPTER REPAIRER (RC)
15N E3-6 AVIONIC MECHANIC
15P E3-9 AVIATION OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
15Q E3-7 AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL OPERATOR
15R E3-7 AH-64 ATTACK HELICOPTER REPAIRER
15S E3-7 OH-58D HELICOPTER REPAIRER
15T E3-7 UH-60 HELICOPTER REPAIRER
15U E3-7 CH-47 HELICOPTER REPAIRER
15V E3-7 OBSERVATION/SCOUT HELICOPTER REPAIRER (RC)
15X E3-7 AH-64A ARMAMENT/ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS REPAIRER
15Y E3-7 AH-64D ARMAMENT/ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS REPAIRER

There you go.....You need to start from the ground up.....find a recruiter and express your desire for Aviation...maybe a Aviation National Guard unit . Im on my way to OCS school in the next two years and then after much school off to flight school...you better love school and training . The road is long and hard. For sure. FT Ruckers is awesome... but very tough. The waiting list to get in is very long. It starts a year before you leave for boot. They have to make sure there's space in the classroom. Soldiers here are on a numbered waiting list to begin their next stage of training. Also you need rank of E-3 or above even if your in a Guard unit to get in. Which means.... plenty of college credits and plenty of time with your unit.

Good luck
