Default 100% education assistance

I'm wanting to join the guard and I've been reading a lot about the new Gi bill starting in aug. From my understanding you have to be in active duty for so long to even receive those benefits. 36 months of duty to receive 100% of the benefits. So, I will end up having to pay for alot of my schooling. I'm not wanting to do active anyway. ugh trying to think of something
