As long as he realizes that he's getting the best training possible. The Army does NOT want him to lose his life in combat. His training will assure him the best chance og\f getting out alive & well. My son had 4 deployments in Iraq & one in Afghanistan & was involved in very heavy fighting as an Army Ranger. The only injuries he received was a cut wrist trying to get around a low mounted air conditioner in the dark without his night vision & once he got a split lip from recoil of a weapon he was shooting. Both were minor & he admits were his fault.

Let's face it - combat zones are dangerous places to be but then again anyone in the military had to have been aware of that before enlisting.

Default Hate myself

I hate myself... I just heard from him and thanks to me I made things 100 times worse. He won't accept treatment, he's on unit watch for the next 4 months. I heard in his voice that he doesn't want me anymore. I love him and I never thought that this would happen. He hates me.

Well, regardless if he hates you - you did what you had to do. When someone starts talking suicide that is what happens... Sounds like you both need counseling... so get it. Don't jump into conclusions about "he loves me-- he loves me not". You did what you had to do. He doesn't like it now, but he'll be grateful for it later... NOW- if he was pulling your chain to get more attention from you - then he deserved what he got for being overly dramatic & lying about his feelings. Lesson learned: Don't cry wolf. OR future lesson learned "I love my wife - she saved my life"... so don't whine, don't worry... it will work out and everything will be ok.

Thanks all. I don't know what I would do without the support of the people on this site, you really helped me get through this, and I'm sure it's not the last time that I will need support.
