The Kentaurus IFV was developed in Greece by ELBO, as the need of a new infantry fighting vehicle in the Greek Army emerged. The Kentaurus was introduced in 1998.
The Kentaurus IFV is armed with a 30-mm EBO cannon and a coaxial 7.62-mm machine gun. Vehicle comes with a digital fire control system resulting in a good fire accuracy.
This advanced infantry fighting vehicle has a crew of three and provides accommodation for eight troops. Troops enter and leave the vehicle through the hatches in the rear of the hull.
Vehicle is not amphibious.
Tests of the Kentaurus IFV were reported to be successful and Greek Army approved this vehicle, however it's future is uncertain, mainly because of the high production costs
