m-60

what ever happend to the m-60?

It was out dated

basicly yes.. it was out dated as "YourRDXman" said.

"out dated"

still quite effective and able.. but unfortunately costly.
this is why M60 is mostly used by US Special forces..
M60E4 is quite handy piece.
like our average KVKK was.

so we adobted some Soviet gear since we got it cheap with some tanks..
(Kalashnikov PKM)

(edit)

so yes... the bulky piece of crap was replaced with something which you can actually carry around.
funneh....

(when i heared that it was replaced with 5.56 shooter... i kinda laughed...
but yes... its lighter to carry and thus more ammo can be carried around.)

sigh...

The FN MAG/ L7A2 or as you guys know it....the M240 is now the prefred option when it comes to 7.62mm fire support. Its a good weapon and does what it says on the tin.

The M60 is still widely used and still puts holes in bad guys just the same

However, you can still find lots of M60 GPMGs out there - in service with allies supplied by the US, certain specialized law enforcement units, and a few military units who haven't fielded the 240 yet. All of the Combat Arms units in the services have transitioned, but the 'pig' still holds its own when it's the gun you have.

My favorite auto weapon of all.

the nato 7.62 does need a good platform...

without it.. the round is nearly useless.

the difference being that we actually have use for the ammo.. instantly...

nato 7.62 is good mid rage round.

Lapua it's not...
nor near our military standards.

I favor m60 just for the Caliber...

when your carrying that...
you carry the real deal.

not some basic SAW ****.
